I only process personal data to the extent necessary to run this website, answer enquiries or fulfil a contract. The legal bases are in particular Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract and pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, working website).

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, under a data processing agreement according to Art. 28 GDPR. The servers are located in Germany.

4. Server log files

When you visit this website, the server automatically stores information your browser sends: IP address, date and time, page requested, referrer, browser type and operating system. This data is used for technical security and troubleshooting (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), is not combined with other data and is deleted automatically after a short period.

5. Contact form and email

If you contact me via the form or by email, I process your details (name, company, email address, optionally phone number and your message) to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is deleted once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention periods apply.

6. No cookies, no tracking

This website does not set cookies and does not use any analytics or tracking tools.

7. Fonts

All fonts are hosted locally on this server. No connection to Google or other providers is made when you visit this website.

8. Link to Instagram

This website contains a plain link to my Instagram profile. Only when you click it are you taken to Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.), where Meta's privacy policy applies. Simply visiting this website does not transfer any data to Instagram.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Just write to james@scarnb.com.

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Commissioner of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
